Dogs in a graveyard

from Recipes for Refugees by Jane Doe

/

lyrics

In front of open tombs and caskets
They bite the greedy hand of a priest
They slip between the legs of mourners
And sing a song of Band of Horses

Four dogs are dancing in a graveyard

They hunt the cats around the crosses
Their tails bring down all the candles
The pack move inside a chapel
They quench their thirst with holy water

Four dogs are dancing in a graveyard

I can’t tell life from death now
These dogs will make me a believer
And if they mock all this sadness
I choose to celebrate the living

One man is dancing in a graveyard
